    Fear is his ally
    Tuesday, March 31, 2009

Since NBA 2K9 is becoming more moddable each passing day, I think it's time to finally try my 1st non-NBA player patch for the game.

He is non other than the dude below:

*click the pic to make it bigger

What to expect from the patch:

    - will add Darth Maul from the Star Wars universe into your NBA 2k9 game (PC)
    - custom dark skintone
    - a freakishly detailed face texture
    - matching freakishly red arm tattoos (based from toys and the animated versions)

He is still a work in progress.

Once I finish the "to do list" then a release will of course immediately follow.

    To do list:

    - still try to tweak the headshape to reflect the actor (Ray Park) that played him in the movie more.
    - still try to salvage the horns via the headshape

    Cons:

    - since the eye and teeth textures can't be assigned to an individual player, he will sadly not have his trademark volcano red eyes and rotting teeth
    - of course, no dual light saber for the dude

    Tina Yuzuki does some "Ka-RIO-ke"
    Sunday, March 22, 2009

It's kinda refreshing to see Tina Yuzuki aka Rio do something else other than what it is she is normally known for, and still be very good at it. (for the guys who don't have a clue on who she is or what she does, always remember that Google is your friend)

Thanks to a late night Japanese TV variety show named "Please Muscat", which features famous JAV idols and gravure idols instead of mainstream celebrities and talents for it's cast. They get to sing pop songs, perform comedy skits, and compete in mindless eye candy competitions against their peers. Just think of it as an international version of ABS-CBN's "Banana Split". Only difference is that the girls on Please Muscat are actually funny and not just a bunch of tease like it's local counterpart.

You have to hand it to the Japanese for their open-minded quirkiness, we actually get the chance too see another side of these girls (no pun intended). That being said, Tina Yuzuki could easily put any other mainstream celebrities and talents to shame as can be seen in the video. Heck, she even sounds and looks better than the original singer. Plus, there's no denying that she can hold up a microphone quite masterfully than the rest of them.

Completing the cast of Please Muscat are: Sora Aoi 蒼井そら, Asami Yuma 麻美ゆま, Akiho Yoshizawa 吉沢明歩, Sho Nishino 西野翔 , Risa Kasumi かすみりさ, Mihiro みひろ, Asami Ogawa 小川あさ美, Saki Kataoka 片岡さき, Megumi Sayama 佐山愛, Hatsune Minori 初音みの, Megu Fujiura 藤浦めぐ and Megumi Kei 恵けい.

    Showcase of the immortals
    Wednesday, March 18, 2009

WWE is setting their sights towards their older fanbase, planning to turn them into cash cows with the power of nostalgia via their new video game named WWE Legends of Wrestlemania. And boy did it work, at least for yours truly.

Reliving the historic confrontation between The Hulkster and The Giant

The game features over 40 legendary wrestlers and managers, vintage presentation and locations, and arcade style gameplay.

I personally still prefer the guys back then as their characters (and costumes) were more colorful as opposed to the todays wrestlers, or should I say "superstars". They even manage to include the dude below, which is one of the most colorful wrestlers (figuratively and literally) in history for this game even though he has a widely publicized bad history with the WWE for years now. So extra props for the guys who made it possible.

"In my final meeting with the Gods from the heavens above, as they spoke to me and hit me with the power of the Ultimate Warrior, they told me 'Exit stage left! Exit stage right! There is no place to run; all the fuses in the exit signs have been burned out!'" - You can always count on this dude to say the darndest promos back in the day.

    Confirmed Roster List:

    - Andre The Giant
    - Animal
    - Arn Anderson
    - Bam Bam Bigelow
    - Big Boss Man
    - Big John Studd
    - Bobby "The Brain" Heenan
    - Bret "Hitman" Hart
    - "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith
    - Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake
    - Dusty Rhodes
    - Greg "The Hammer" Valentine
    - Hacksaw Jim Duggan
    - Hawk
    - Honky Tonk Man
    - Hulk Hogan
    - Hunter Hearst Helmsley (Wait, what? The current HHH sure, but Hunter Hearst "Blueblood" Helmsley? banging the boss' daughter sure has it's perks)
    - Iron Sheik
    - Jake "The Snake" Roberts
    - Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart
    - Jimmy Hart
    - "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka
    - Junkyard Dog
    - Kamala
    - King Kong Bundy
    - Koko B. Ware
    - Michael Hayes
    - Mr. Fuji
    - Mr. Perfect
    - Nikolai Volkoff
    - Paul Bearer
    - Ravishing Rick Rude
    - Ric Flair
    - Rowdy Roddy Piper
    - Sgt. Slaughter
    - Shawn Michaels
    - Stone Cold Steve Austin
    - "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase
    - The Rock
    - The Ultimate Warrior
    - Undertaker
    - Yokozuna

If they could just work out some professional agreement to put "The Macho Man" Randy Savage in there, even though he and the WWE has some unknown personal issues up to this day (there are rumors circulating as to what it was but was never confirmed). He undoubtedly was still an important part of that era and to it's fanbase.

Another cool feature is that fans of the past who still appreciate the current WWE could also import modern day "superstars" from the WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 game roster. Which means they can finally fulfill their dreams of stomping a mudhole on a virtual John Cena courtesy of Stone Cold Steve Austin.

With all that being said, the game is an automatic buy for me when it hits the stores on March 24th (on PS3 and XBOX360). If you guys are still not sure, you can always try the demo 1st. It's already out on the PSN and XBL.

    Expose hidden friends through Ydetector
    Friday, March 13, 2009

Maybe because our country's culture is somewhat conservative or we're just really sneaky by nature, most Filipinos tend to hide/go invisible on their IM's (instant messengers). There is a way though to reveal their true status if they are using Yahoo Messenger.

just go to this site: www.ydetector.com

Just type in your friends Yahoo ID (I purposely blurred my friends ID to preserve his anonymity) and press the "search" button.

Wait for it to load. Don't worry, it would only take a couple of seconds.

Voila! the Ydetector exposed my friends real online status with his current avatar to boot.

Go ahead, try it on your own set of friends and expose them for what they truly are... their online status that is. ;)

*This procedure will only expose your friends true online status on yahoo messenger, it will not expose if they are backstabbers, if they are fair weathered, or if they are stealing your gf/bf behind your back.

    Rest in peace "Master Rapper"
    Friday, March 6, 2009

Francis Magalona passed away earlier today due to complications that stemmed from his acute myeloid leukemia which was diagnosed on August 8, 2008. He was 44 years old.

He was the man responsible for making Rap and Hip-Hop genre become mainstream in our country earning him the monicker "King of Philippine Rap". He steered clear away from "gangster" rap and composed songs that were motivational and nationalistic instead.

Due to the changing times, as Rock music was becoming dominant in the 90's. He merged Rap and Rock in his music (which was long before foreign acts such as Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park did it) and also became successful at it.

One of the more popular songs he made that used the Rap and Rock fusion, and probably one of my favorite OPM songs of all time was Kaleidoscope World. The message of the song was solid and the riffs were of course, very much 90's-ish (my favorite era in music).

    Kaleidoscope World Video

Other achievements of the "Master Rapper" were:

    - also an actor, TV host and a director
    - a responsible family man, raising 8 children with wife Pia Arroyo-Magalona
    - 1st Filipino MTV VJ
    - an accomplished photographer
    - started his own clothing line
    - army reservist with the rank of sergeant
    - recipient of the MTV Pilipinas VMA's Generations Award in 2006
    - co-started a foundation called Heartist Foundation, which aims to help Filipino artists with health and commercial concerns
    - made a blog way before celebrity blogs became a norm so he could communicate with his fans, which later on served as a chronicle for his "Happy Battle" with leukemia.
    - posthumous Presidential Medal of Merit for promoting patriotism through music.

Heck, I even remember dancing to his song "Mga Kababayan" on our school program when I was still a wee little elementary lad.

He truly was a man that inspired a generation of Filipinos through his talent, music, and love for his country. Something that local politicians in our country continue to fail at or only do during elections and yet they still keep on living.

My deepest condolences to his family, fans, and friends.

    R.I.P. Francis Durango Magalona (October 4, 1964 - March 6, 2009)
