    Unleash your inner... frustrated rocker!
    Wednesday, November 19, 2008

If you prefer rock music as your primary genre and wants to live the dream of being a rock star but have limited or no skills in playing real music instruments other than the maracas, then the Rock Band games (PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, Wii) and Guitar Hero: World Tour (PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, Wii, PC, MAC) are definitely the games for you.

It lets you create a fake band, jam with fake musical instruments and you can even fake battle-of-the-bands against other players. Hell, if you're a showman you can even record your bands performance on video and upload it on a fake TV named YouTube. The games are at their high point when you manage to have a complete band (composed of a vocalist, 2 guitarists: lead and bass respectively, and a drummer) because nothing beats blaming the weaker link human players when your band fails.

I find the song list on the games to be very decent. With a balanced mixed of songs from rock legends and contemporary rock artists (Thank God no Emo or Jonas Brothers songs made the cut). Even though these games are all about faking it, it's still undeniably fun and can still very well tap and unleash the inner frustrated rocker inside of you without the worry of long road trips, drugs, or STD's. Now if only they could incorporate fake groupies next time around.
